Old Business-

Parent Directories- Linda Jenkins distributed the directories to those present. It was noted that one page is missing and that page will be handed out later. If others would like one, they should contact Linda.

Sr. Signs-Ms. Jenkins reported that only one senior has not paid their share of their banner.

Country Mart- Linda Jenkins reported that Christy Ogden is still working on getting the Country Mart check and that it should be about $1,800.

Light Show- KCPL did not sponsor the light show so the cost was $762.70.

New Business-

Linda Jenkins reminded those present that only members of MPA can vote on MPA matters and encouraged those not signed up to do so.

Scratch and Hold-Amy Bredeson explained the possible Scratch and Hold card fundraiser. Each band member would receive a card worth $100 and would ask family and friends to scratch off an amount or amounts. The highest amount is $3.00. If the entire card is scratched off, the Band will make at least $80.00 on the card. This fundraiser will be explained to the students and hopefully start after marching season.

Culver’s Partnership- Carey Johnson, a partner in Culver’s at the Legend’s, offered the Band an opportunity to sign up for a night a month or less whereby band students and their families would be encouraged to eat at Culver’s. In return, the Band would receive 10% of sales. At least 4 parents or band members would have to be present to help serve food. There is the opportunity for students to perform for tips that would go back to the Band. No action was taken on this matter.

Clarinda Patches- Lesa Levi acknowledged that Cris Whalen was present to offer to make Clarinda patches for sale to MPA. Ms. Levi indicated that at this time MPA cannot afford to buy Clarinda patches for every member of the band. She further indicated that MPA had been approached by another person who offered to do the patches for the Band. Discussion followed whereby it was agreed to accept two sample patches from the two different sellers and to decide whether MPA would later buy patches when funds become available or whether they would be offered to the students for a price to be agreed upon at a later date. A motion was made by Brenda Bryant and seconded by Linda Hill to table the patches matter. Motion passed.

Senior Banquet Dessert- After some discussion, a motion was made by Brenda Bryant and seconded to buy a large photo cake for the Senior Banquet but to have a sundae bar in lieu of giving each senior an individual cake. Motion passed.

The meeting was adjourned at 8:42pm.
