Minutes
of November 17, 2008 Meeting
The meeting was
called to order by President Linda Jenkins at 7:07pm.
Members present:
Brenda Bryant, Amy Bredeson, Belinda Knopp, Ruth Wilson,Teresa Sherley, Lesa Levi, Cindy McGinnis, Linda Jenkins, Jennifer
Magee, Ron Magee, Christie Ogden, Dr. Jones, Mr. Bonsignore, .
and Jeannie Hoskins.
A motion was made
by Jennifer Magee, and seconded by Brenda Bryant, that the minutes of the October 13, 2008 meeting be approved. Motion carried.
Treasurer’s
Report- Ms. Magee reported that the ending balance as of November 17, 2008 was
$3,298.61. Ms. Magee further reported that if we subtract out the monies not
spent on away tailgates, we have in excess of $1,621.75. A motion was made by Lesa Levi, and seconded by Belinda Knopp, that
the issue of what to do with the unspent away tailgate monies be tabled.
Dr. Jones’
Report-
Dr. Jones discussed what would be involved if we were to start focusing upon becoming more competitive
at competitions like the CMSU festival. He further reported that the band department is looking for ways to keep recruitment
of younger members alive and have decided to allow the eighth graders next year to
participate in one of the home football games marching with the regular high school band. He also reported that information
went home with the students regarding the Wind Ensemble and the Jazz Band participating in a music festival in St. Louis.
Mr. Bonsignore-
Mr. Bonsignore reminded the group that the All District Jazz Band Concert is
Saturday, November 22, 2008 at 5:30pm in Maryville. The Jazz
Band’s Tour of Schools will be December 12th, the High School Band Concert will be December 16th,
and the Middle School Band Concert will be December 18th.
Suzanne Frame-Mr.
Bonsignore reported that Ms. Frame has indicated that all of the girls on the dance team will be on the Color Guard next year.
Old Business-
Booster Club- MPA will work the concession stand during the eight Boys’
Basketball home games.
Water- Left over water will be used as needed.
Sr. Banners-All money came in from the seniors for the banners.
Directory-Ms. Jenkins distributed the missing directory pages.
Antique Show-Ms. Amrein thanked us for the help with the Antique Show. Cindy McGinnis to check to see if we received
check.
Country Mart- We received $1,841,81 from Country Mart.
New Business-
Clarinda Patches- A secret ballot vote was taken by those members present between two Clarinda patches that were submitted
to MPA. Patch marked Patch #2 which was made by Linda Jenkins was selected.
